LEGO Modular Buildings: Grand Emporium (2010)

The LEGO 10211 set, also known as the Grand Emporium, is a highly detailed and collectible model that was released in March 2010 as part of the LEGO Modular Buildings series. This set comprises 2,182 pieces and is designed for builders aged 16 and up, showcasing the architectural essence and intricate designs characteristic of LEGOs more advanced and adult-targeted offerings.

The Grand Emporium is a three-story department store built in a classic early 20th-century architectural style, featuring large display windows, an iconic revolving door at the entrance, and a detailed facade adorned with ornamental elements. Each floor offers a different shopping experience, from clothing and accessories on the first floor to home goods on the second and toys on the top floor, complete with an escalator connecting each level.

Additional highlights include a billboard on the roof, a shopping area with an ice cream stand, and numerous accessories that bring the emporium to life, such as mannequins, cash registers, and a variety of products for the LEGO minifigures to “purchase.” The set also includes seven minifigures, adding to the dynamic and lively atmosphere of the scene.

As a modular set, builders can detach each floor to explore the detailed interiors or rearrange them. Furthermore, it can connect with other sets in the Modular Building series to create an expansive LEGO city block. The Grand Emporium has since become a prized collectors item, especially after its retirement, admired for its complexity, playability, and display-worthy design.
